Isn’t it crazy that this is where it all starts, and ends for that matter?
Right now I’m planning, and honestly, it fills so full and beautiful, but blank at the same time. Because I can see the full and beautiful in my dreams, but reality is blank (right now).
That’s what a garden is, right? A blank slate. This time of year, it’s a clean slate with so much room for good, but also room for error. I’m excited...and slightly terrified because God does crazy, beautiful things. And I’ve been praying that He does them here. So I want to take a second and share my prayer with you for SkyGardens this year - because you’re a part of this journey too.
Dear God, I pray you allow us (SkyGardens) to share Your creation with the world. To be calm in the storm, light in the darkness, and salt of the earth. May more people come to know You more fully through this garden. And may you protect, challenge, and refine us so that we can bring more people you. Amen.
That’s my “word” for the year. A while prayer. ❤️

My days are spent looking for little seedlings nowadays. Every morning I get up and look for any new sign of life.
Yes, it’s November and I’m planting - so backwards for this girl who has grown up around cotton. It’s harvest season. 😂
Did you know you can get some seeds planted right now that will come up, establish during the winter, and bloom in the spring? Here’s a few things on my list to get seeded:
🌱Bachelor Buttons
🌱Larkspur
🌱Dara
🌱Orlaya
🌱Saponaria
🌱Calendula
🌱Sweet Peas
🌱Snapdragons
They are called hardy annuals and most can be planted now without any winter protection in our zone. Comment below if you have any questions or want to get started planting now! I’m happy to share any knowledge I’ve acquired! ❤️
Have you ever thought “I wish I could hear God?” I do. Like an actual voice please. But then I look around and He’s everywhere.
This morning He spoke through these roses and said “I’m not done with you yet. It’s just the beginning.” And He brings on more beauty and shows more love than I could ever imagine.
I know what you’re thinking - “You got all of that from a couple roses?” At a time when I had expected all flowers to be gone days or even weeks ago, yes, yes I did. I’m excited to see how the rose garden grows next year with many more bushes and second year growth for this base group, but I am grateful for the beauty in front of me right now while things should be desolate.

Any guesses as to how many plants fit in this high tunnel?
Hint: it’s not full yet. ❤️☺️
Come out to see us for all your Christmas shopping today! Might as well knock it out early. Or maybe you need some decor before everyone gets in the the holidays?? We’ve got it all. 😊
]]>It’s about time to see some of the awesome things we have in stock for the holidays! These sand towels are definitely a favorite. They come in just about every color and are just amazing.
Super absorbent, trendy, lightweight, and rapidly drying, these are perfect for the beach lover, pool lover, or maybe that kid who is always outside playing in the mud. 😉
There are more colors on the website, and we will have them all out at the farmers market TOMORROW!
And just like that, goodbye to the inaugural growing year for SkyGardens. If you’re wanting flowers, keep us in mind come Spring when things will be blooming again.
Though flowers are no more, we are not slowing down at all around here. Stay tuned to see all of our holiday items, wreaths and garlands, and future exciting news about how you can bring SkyGardens flowers to your table.
Thank you for your support this year. We love each and every one of you.
The root systems on these anemones are outstanding! Even better, they seem to be adjusting well to their new homes.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m about ready for the sun to come back out tomorrow. Planting is a lot more fun when I’m not wearing 20 layers of clothing.
Why do I share every detail with you - from seed to bloom? I call it the “Grannie Effect.”
When I first told Grannie about this crazy idea to grow flowers, she instantly had a vested interest in everything we grow. Now as we have flowers she brags on them as though she walks through the fields every morning. They are mine, hers, ours. And I love that.
I want you to feel as though they are yours too. So I love to hear your thoughts about what we need to grow, about how you can’t wait to see the blooms, and your excitement as things are growing. This garden - it is mine, yours, ours.
Comment your favorite flower and I’ll let you know if it’s on the list for 2022. 😜
Every day just trying to plant more than the day before. Slowly, but surely getting it all in the ground. ☺️
P. S. It bothers me too that these lines are not perfectly straight, but it is what it is.
10.30.2021 The first baby plants went into the ground in the new high tunnel! 🥰 I’m smiling nonstop now.
P.S. Stay tuned to see how these oversized ranunculus do. We may have waited a bit too long to plant them, but I think they’ll do just fine. ❤️
Out here at the Wolfforth Farmers Market having a grand ole time! Come see us till 2pm! ❤️
]]>I got to ride with my Poppy today for quite a while. It’s my favorite. Getting to be there, hang out with him, and love this land that is our home - priceless. And it’s a lot of fun this year because the cotton is BEAUTIFUL. Plus, I’m like half farmer too this year.
Not saying I don’t have faith that the crop will be like this next year because I completely believe God always provides, but it RAINED this year. Dry-land cotton has not looked like this is 10 YEARS! Last year I tried to make a wreath or two and it was NOTHING LIKE THIS. So if you’re wanting to decorate your home with any cotton, do it by supporting these farmers that work so hard to grow it year after year on land that is home. Right here in West Texas. Can’t get better.
I’m in love. With the roses. Comment how many more you think I’ve ordered for next year. 😉
This garden has worked and worked and worked. It has taught us so much that we are going to take into next year and keeps giving when I think it’s bound to give up.
A learning year, yes, but a beautiful one at that - and it’s not quite over. 🥰
I’m pulling beauties out every day (but not buckets full), so let me know if you need flowers from this inaugural season of SkyGardens. Thank you, again for making it what it has been.
Everyone, wish this beautiful lady a happy, happy birthday! Her name is Lori, but I call her mom. She is the queen that allows me to dirty up her house without complaint and dives 100% into some of the craziest ideas we come up with together. The world is a better place because God put her here. ❤️🥰
]]>Come see us at the Wolfforth Farmers Market TODAY! ❤️ We will have all the beautiful things for you to decorate your house for the holidays or get started on that Christmas gift list. 10am - 2pm 😊
]]>Have you ever seen/heard Hamilton (the musical)? That’s not a requirement to follow us, but it has one line in particular that has stuck with me recently - “Legacy. What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.”
I can’t help but think of this lady right here. She bought this seven year old little girl a greenhouse, seeds, the whole nine yards, and planted a seed. She passed away in 2015 and never even got to see that shy little girl begin to come out of her shell.
That lady is my Grama, and I’m that little seven-year-old. If you don’t know my whole story, follow along with us and you’ll be sure to learn it, but you have to know my Grama. She planted SkyGardens, and it’s a garden she never got to see, at least not from here.
If you’re new around here, my name is Skyler and our goal here at SkyGardens is to share God’s creation with you one flower at a time.
Somehow flowers aren’t gone yet, and that makes me really happy! Let us know if you need any flowers in the next couple weeks! We’d love to help you! ❤️☺️
]]>Deadheading - not glamorous at all, but absolutely necessary. Taking off the old to make way for the new and beautiful. Especially after the flowers were burnt from the recent low temperatures.
I think it’s crazy awesome how God uses gardening tasks to show us His love. ❤️ A love that prunes and takes off the bad whether we know it/like it or not.
Here’s your before shot - in the Spring, this field will be full of tough, beautiful flowers. I say tough because they are going to have to be. Now, I need to get back to the laundry.
Anyone else procrastinate the laundry till you’re wearing clothes that you didn’t know were in your closet? 🤣 There just seems to be many other (way more important) tasks that need my attention. Raise your hand if so 🙋♀️😉
I might have forgotten to post a picture this morning, but we are still out here at the Wolfforth Farmers Market today! Come see us until 2pm!
]]>It’s here - flowers are coming to a bittersweet end. Though they are not completely gone yet, I think they can feel the end is near because the production is not near as high as it has been.
For this reason, I have marketed all flowers as “sold out” on our website. I ask that you message me to order so that I will be able to see if we have enough availability to complete your order.
We hope to still have buckets and buckets of beautiful flowers at the farmers market to share with you! More on that in the next couple days. ❤️
Just a reminder to water your flowers and go see Malta Farms to get your pumpkins this year! They are out at the Wolfforth Farmers Market all week long, and especially on market days! 🎃
Fields turning white left and right is a beautiful thing in our family. We are selling all sorts of cotton wreaths for this year because the cotton is BEAUTIFUL! If you see a style you like and would like us to replicate it, message me and we will do our west to make your fall/winter wreath dreams come true! That’s the cool thing about cotton wreaths - they do really well in BOTH seasons.
The cotton comes straight from my grandpas farm (which surrounds the flower farm). 😍
*bow is interchangeable and can be placed anywhere on the wreath*
Am I mad that the sparkles in this dahlia aren’t visible to the camera? Yes, yes I am. But that’s even a better reason to see them in person. 😍

First and foremost, we have to say a big congratulations to the lawyer on our team, Riley Richardson! She officially has news that she passed the bar, though we’ve been telling her that verdict for months. SO AMAZING!! (She’s the beautiful blonde in the back of this photo.)
Second, thank you so much for coming out to support us today! So many have asked for prices of pumpkins and I plan to get them up later this afternoon on the website. Remember that at the farmers market, we discount the arrangements significantly so if you notice different prices, that’s the reason. That’s our way to try to get you out to the farmers market to see all the wonderful vendors. ☺️
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making SkyGardens what it is. We are extremely grateful for all of the love and support and will strive to continue to build grow more beautiful blooms for years to come!
This week we ran over to the Pumpkin Patch at the Farmers Market to do some crazy designing! Don’t worry, all of these flowers were still cut LAST NIGHT! Talk about an arrangement that will last you a while. 😉
Come out to see us today @wolfforthfarmersmarket! Texas Tech Homecoming = the perfect reason to bring all your friends and family out before the game this evening. You won’t regret it!
Working so hard that you feel like your muscles might give up is oh, so rewarding. I pray that when you work so hard, you see the blooms of your labor.
I have the best dad in the world who works hard all day and then works harder all evening. Big thanks to him for believing in my dreams and making them his own.
